What does a membership offer you?

Joining one of the clubs will ensure that you interact informally with other wine lovers, get to know new people and learn more about wine at the same time.  We also enjoy visiting new and interesting wineries and members are often surprised by the venues chosen.

“How did you find out about this winery?” is probably one of the most frequently asked questions we hear!

Benefits to club members

Club members enjoy 10 formal, tutored evening tastings per year.  Each tasting takes place at a different wine estate with either the wine maker, owner or tasting room manager as host and is accompanied by a light or more substantial meal, depending on the wine club you belong to.  In addition, 2 weekend getaways and an overseas trip(Optional), is included into the programme.  Due to our member numbers, we can also often negotiate reduced rates for various other wine shows, tastings and events.

Members fees & monthly tasting costs

Membership fees are R300 per person per annum, which entitles members to attend all activities offered by the club.  A fee of R150 or R200-R350 per person is charged for each monthly tasting event, depending on the club you belong to.  (Tutored tasting and meal)

How does it work?

Once you’ve signed up and paid your membership fee, you will be asked to register with your own password on this website.

Every month you will receive an invitation from organisor Bjorn van Oort, with full details of the winery, date/s, menu, directions, what to expect + an rsvp date.

Signing up, monthly invitations, bookings/rsvp’s will be channeled through our website and members should therefore have access to the internet and e-mail.

Your only responsibility after that, is to turn up!

Monthly tastings

The first tastings take place in February and will be handled as a training session to ensure a uniform tasting standard for the year.  The last tastings of the year are in November.

We prefer that members pay cash on the night at each tasting as we reimburse the winery and/or caterer from that income at the end of the evening.
